CHALLENGE RULES

ALL PARTICIPANTS IN THE ASTANA TREASURE HUNT (THE “CHALLENGE”) WILL BE DEEMED TO HAVE ACCEPTED, AND BE BOUND BY, THE FOLLOWING RULES AND CONDITIONS:

ELIGIBILITY:

The Challenge is open to any individual over 18 years of age who has a copy of Astana: Architecture, Myth, and Destiny (the “Book”). Frank Albo (the “Author”); Cliff Johnson, (the “Creator”); Vidacom Publications (the “Publisher”); Hayden Sundmark (the “Designer”); and Parkview Inc. (the “Sponsor”); as well as their respective attorneys, agents, employees, and immediate family (related or not), heirs, and assigns are ineligible to participate in the Challenge.

GUIDELINES:

Concealed within the Book are secrets and mysteries (the “Clues”) that, once solved, reveal a hidden message (the “Solution”). The first person, or group of persons, (the “Sleuth”) to deduce the Solution in its exact wording, must follow the Instructions (see below) to become the verified “Winner” and claim the Prize (see below).

RULES: 

The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any Sleuth who: (a) tampers with the participation in, or operation of, the Challenge; (b) violates any rules of the Challenge; or (c) acts in a disruptive manner and offends, threatens, or harasses any Sleuth participating in the Challenge. The Challenge will run until the Solution has been submitted and the Winner has been verified, or until May 21, 2020 (the “Closing Date”), whichever occurs sooner. Submissions made through agents or third parties are invalid.

INSTRUCTIONS: 

The Sleuth must submit his/her answer through the website or by email to solution@astanamyth.com. The Winner will be required to complete, sign, and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability, as well as a release within fifteen (15) days of being contacted by a representative of the Challenge. During that time, the Winner will also be required to satisfy the Sponsor that his/her Solution resulted from his/her own analysis and skill, and without the use of any prohibited conduct or confidential information. Permission to announce the Winner’s name must be provided in writing to the Sponsor before being awarded the Prize. The Winner may also be asked to participate in publicity, except where prohibited by law.

NOTIFICATION: 

The Solution has been safely stored and will only be revealed once the Winner has been verified, at which point the Challenge will be deemed terminated. If the Winner does not accept the Prize or does not respond to the Sponsor’s notification, the Prize will be deemed forfeited, and the next Sleuth who has submitted the Solution will be contacted. The above procedure will be followed until a Winner has been determined.

PRIZE:

The Sleuth, whom the Sponsor in its sole discretion, has declared the Winner will be awarded two Business Class tickets from Amsterdam to Astana, seven (7) day luxury hotel accommodations in Astana, and a cash prize of US $5000. If the Sleuth consists of more than one participant, each must comply with the above requirements, agree in writing to share the Prize and release the Sponsor from any liability in connection therewith. The Sponsor takes no responsibility for dividing the Prize and has no obligation to award it until the Sponsor receives such written agreement and release.

DISCLOSURES:

The Sponsor shall have complete discretion over the interpretation of the rules and reserves the right to refuse to award the Prize to anyone who the Sponsor determines is in breach of these rules and conditions or otherwise fails to establish their eligibility. The decision of the Sponsor regarding the Winner and all matters related to the Challenge are final. If a Winner is not declared by the Closing Date, the Sponsor may decide in its sole discretion to extend the Challenge and will post the extension at www.astanamyth.com

LIABILITY:

The Sponsor is not responsible for misdirected, lost, delayed, altered, or illegible submissions. The Prize may not be transferred or assigned without the Sponsor’s written consent. All expenses for participating in the Challenge are the sole responsibility of the Sleuth. By participating in the Challenge, each Sleuth releases the Author, Creator, Publisher, Designer, and Sponsor from any and all liability for any loss, harm, damages, cost, or expense, including without limitation property damage, personal injury and/or death, arising out of participation in the Challenge or the acceptance, use or misuse of the Prize. Participation in the Challenge and all matters relating thereto is governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba without reference to choice of law rules, and the Courts situated in that Province shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all disputes relating to the Challenge.
